Long time...no blog!

Wow! Been a while since I have checked in. My husband would think that is typical, because I always start things and never finish. I have great intentions, but my self-diagnosed ADD kicks in. I have done soooooo much around the house since I last posted. I hope to update with pictures soon.

Before home updates, how about a few vacation pictures. We went on a trip to New Braunsfels for some family fun. Our great friends the Fredericks went with us. Good times!

The Comal River - view from our balcony at the condo.
So, counting today, I have 14 days until I go back to school. Where did the summer go? I have changed positions, so most of July has been spent working in my new classroom. The outgoing teacher left a lot of treasures, so it took a while to go through her things and organize with my things. It is getting there, still have a bit more to do to be "ready".
My baby girl will be in first grade this year. She is just growing so fast. She is really understanding so much about this big world, and asks a lot of questions. She really listens to hubby and my conversations. At times, well, a lot of the time, I have to remind her that she is only 6 and NOT THE Momma!
Longer post soon with updated house pictures!

Busy Monday!

Well, I have been super busy today! I ran our dog Cosmo to the groomer, stopped at Hobby Lobby, stopped at WalMart for a new bike for Chloe, stopped at Dollar General for some this and that. All of that with two kids in tow! Came back home and got to work! The good thing is that our neighborhood is awesome. We live on a street full of kids, so they go from house to house playing and eating. I filled up the pool with water in the shaded front yard and all six kids went to town. Cheap and easy entertainment! While they were entertained I did one million loads of laundry (half of which still need to be folded) and cleaned up the new office. Along the way, I found time to get a couple projects finished.

Project 1:
I saw this idea on a blog somewhere a while back, and stored it in my brain to use one day. This morning I was a Hobby Lobby getting fabric. We just happened to cut down the isle with the flowers (half off) and wa-la...instant project!
Take flowers off of stem and remove the front and back so you only have the petal pieces.

Unscrew the drawer pulls on your dresser ( I used an electric drill and did it one at a time)
Put the petal peices on the screw and screw the knob back on.
Finished project: The princess loved it! Now to get her to clean up the rest of the room...
Total cost $4.00 with flowers left over for something????

Project 2: My next project is a goodie I found in Canton for $10. I knew I wanted it, but wasn't exactly sure what I was gonna do. Once I got to messing around and arranging the room, I thought it would go perfect in this spot. It is the perfect color, just needed cleaning and wa-la..instant photo holder! I think I may paint some flourishes or something on the top and down the sides in white, but for now...I love it!

And since some grandparents may be reading and wondering about their grandchildren...

Here is Chloe on her last day of Kindergarten (sniff-sniff) She had PERFECT ATTENDANCE! I am so proud of her! Her teacher was pure gold...really gonna miss her next year. Although, hopefully Reagan will get her the next year!

Speaking of Reagan...here he is being his usual self and enjoying his summer. He has already asked me 500 times to go swimming and 600 times to go fishing....ah....so persistent!

That's all for now....gonna go finish dinner for my hubby!

Paint, Pictures & Polka Dots

Today was a great day! I took a personal day from work since my precious daughter was graduating from Kindergarten...sigh...more on that later.

The major room redo is in progress. I have finished priming and painting all of the first wave of cabinets. I'm letting all the doors dry over night, in hopes of sanding them down tomorrow. Then they will be ready to move inside and assemble. YEAH!

Cody brought home the second wave of cabinets yesterday, but I really cannot get to them until all the other stuff gets cleared out. Getting a little crowded in the garage, and I'm not willing to give up my parking spot. Here are some pictures of my progress/madness...

Since I was waiting on some of the paint to dry before applying another coat, I of course found something else to imporve on. I attacked my granny's old corner shelf with some spray paint....a lot of fun! It looks awesome now! Will go great in my bedroom by my bed (great for all the books and magazines I have stashed!

My poor nails!

On to pictures! My baby girl graduated! The ceremony was absolutely adorable! I was so well composed until I saw Chloe's teacher tearing up. How awesome to have a teacher so in love with her students that she cries too while they sing a song about growing up and moving on....total heart swell moment.

My mom drove over to go to the graduation, so we went and had some lunch and a little shopping at...ROSS! I scored and found my inspiration for the decor of the new room. Here it is!

Well, hubby is calling me to the dinner table! Good night!
