Summertime!

I have been so busy! I know that is a common sentence to come from my mouth...but it is true!

My creative bug has been huge! I have had to sop myself this week, so I can study for my national board teacher test this Saturday.

I finally painted baby boy's room. No, he is not a baby, but he is my baby! We moved into our house 2 years ago, and his was the only room that I haven't touched yet! He didn't mind. Sadly it still had the baby looney tunes wallpaper up. Here are pictures of the transformation! He is very pleased! The blue and green paint is a little off in the pictures. It is not quite so neon in person.
The kids enjoyed watching me! Everytime I would do something new Reagan would come in and say, "awwww, mom! I love it!" Cute kid!
I have some other projects I completed and others I want to do, but they will all have to wait until after my test on Saturday.
So, for now - I'm trying to keep the kids occupied while filling my brain with so much knowledge about literacy. If you are bored on Saturday morning, and need something to think about...send some prayers my way for knowledge and clear thinking!
Until next time...

Busy Monday!

Well, I have been super busy today! I ran our dog Cosmo to the groomer, stopped at Hobby Lobby, stopped at WalMart for a new bike for Chloe, stopped at Dollar General for some this and that. All of that with two kids in tow! Came back home and got to work! The good thing is that our neighborhood is awesome. We live on a street full of kids, so they go from house to house playing and eating. I filled up the pool with water in the shaded front yard and all six kids went to town. Cheap and easy entertainment! While they were entertained I did one million loads of laundry (half of which still need to be folded) and cleaned up the new office. Along the way, I found time to get a couple projects finished.

Project 1:
I saw this idea on a blog somewhere a while back, and stored it in my brain to use one day. This morning I was a Hobby Lobby getting fabric. We just happened to cut down the isle with the flowers (half off) and wa-la...instant project!
Take flowers off of stem and remove the front and back so you only have the petal pieces.

Unscrew the drawer pulls on your dresser ( I used an electric drill and did it one at a time)
Put the petal peices on the screw and screw the knob back on.
Finished project: The princess loved it! Now to get her to clean up the rest of the room...
Total cost $4.00 with flowers left over for something????

Project 2: My next project is a goodie I found in Canton for $10. I knew I wanted it, but wasn't exactly sure what I was gonna do. Once I got to messing around and arranging the room, I thought it would go perfect in this spot. It is the perfect color, just needed cleaning and wa-la..instant photo holder! I think I may paint some flourishes or something on the top and down the sides in white, but for now...I love it!

And since some grandparents may be reading and wondering about their grandchildren...

Here is Chloe on her last day of Kindergarten (sniff-sniff) She had PERFECT ATTENDANCE! I am so proud of her! Her teacher was pure gold...really gonna miss her next year. Although, hopefully Reagan will get her the next year!

Speaking of Reagan...here he is being his usual self and enjoying his summer. He has already asked me 500 times to go swimming and 600 times to go fishing....ah....so persistent!

That's all for now....gonna go finish dinner for my hubby!

Summertime!

Well, today is offically my first day of summer vacation! I love being a teacher! This offically marks my 10th year of teaching! Wow! Time sure flies!

I've been absent from my blog for a while, but with a good reason. The last week of school was busy between my school and Chloe's kindergarten year. Then this past Saturday, Cody and I packed up and headed to Canton, TX for the trade days. Found some good stuff to spruce up my home. I'll take a picture in a bit and also include pics of the front room remodel. The room is finished hardware wise, but now I get the fun of decorating the walls! Yeah! That is the fun part!

For now, I'm trying to catch up on laundry and cleaning my dirty house. The kids are in the front yard splashing in the baby pool with neighbors. Summer is here!
