Busy Monday!
Well, I have been super busy today! I ran our dog Cosmo to the groomer, stopped at Hobby Lobby, stopped at WalMart for a new bike for Chloe, stopped at Dollar General for some this and that. All of that with two kids in tow! Came back home and got to work! The good thing is that our neighborhood is awesome. We live on a street full of kids, so they go from house to house playing and eating. I filled up the pool with water in the shaded front yard and all six kids went to town. Cheap and easy entertainment! While they were entertained I did one million loads of laundry (half of which still need to be folded) and cleaned up the new office. Along the way, I found time to get a couple projects finished.
Project 2: My next project is a goodie I found in Canton for $10. I knew I wanted it, but wasn't exactly sure what I was gonna do. Once I got to messing around and arranging the room, I thought it would go perfect in this spot. It is the perfect color, just needed cleaning and wa-la..instant photo holder! I think I may paint some flourishes or something on the top and down the sides in white, but for now...I love it!
That's all for now....gonna go finish dinner for my hubby!

Summertime!
Well, today is offically my first day of summer vacation! I love being a teacher! This offically marks my 10th year of teaching! Wow! Time sure flies!
I've been absent from my blog for a while, but with a good reason. The last week of school was busy between my school and Chloe's kindergarten year. Then this past Saturday, Cody and I packed up and headed to Canton, TX for the trade days. Found some good stuff to spruce up my home. I'll take a picture in a bit and also include pics of the front room remodel. The room is finished hardware wise, but now I get the fun of decorating the walls! Yeah! That is the fun part!
For now, I'm trying to catch up on laundry and cleaning my dirty house. The kids are in the front yard splashing in the baby pool with neighbors. Summer is here!

Paint, Pictures & Polka Dots
Today was a great day! I took a personal day from work since my precious daughter was graduating from Kindergarten...sigh...more on that later.
Well, hubby is calling me to the dinner table! Good night!

Major Project
Well...I have finally gotten started on the big dining room redo. I dreamed up my plan over a month ago, and I am so excited to finally start working on it.
My hubby picked these up yesterday: (craigslist)
Our dining room is going to turn into a family friendly office. These cabinets will go against one wall to create some built in storage and computer desk. Hubby is going to pick up some other cabinets tomorrow.
I spent a couple hours this evening outside priming the doors and drawers. I'm hoping to get them painted tomorrow. Yeah! I'm gonna work on creating a sketch of the layout of the new room. along with some before pictures of the room.
Here is one project I did finish this weekend. I collected a whole bunch of frames from around the house (going unused) and spray painted them all black. Here is the ending result on my bedroom wall.
That's all for tonight! Heading to bed...

The Beginning
I have been a blog reader for years...and lately I have really been enjoying blogs about decorating the home in a thrifty and creative way. I have made it my mission to spruce up our home this summer. I have saved several pictures and ideas I hope to incorporate. The biggest change will be our dining room, which will no longer be a dining room, but a family office. More details to come.
